TREE - Transformation of Resources for Environmental Enrichment
The TREE (Transformation of Resources for Environmental Enrichment) program is designed to manage waste in small-scale units where households can dispose of organic and recyclable waste generated by themselves. The program aims to manage waste in a way that mirrors the natural cycle of life, where dead leaves and parts of the tree would have fallen and decomposed around it, enriching the soil quality of the place for the prosperity of the Tree that has grown. The program’s objective is to increase community participation in waste management, which is crucial to mitigating the negative impact of municipal dumping yards. We raise public awareness of the importance of waste management and provide the necessary skills and institutional practices to develop a standardized waste management system. The program focuses on educating children, women, and youth on how to handle and dispose of household waste responsibly.
It’s crucial to understand that waste is not actually “waste” but a resource that is in the wrong place. Households can play a significant role in waste management by separating their waste and handing it in for disposal to produce value-added products. In this way, we can reduce the amount of waste generated and collected from the household, convert waste into a resource by producing organic manure and other value-added products, and promote a sustainable circular economy and eco-friendly life. Ultimately, everyone benefits, but the biggest winner will be the environment.
